Peggy Pierce Buttrum

June 6, 1939 — December 18, 2020

Peggy Pierce Buttrum, age 81, of Royal, passed away December 18, 2020.

Peggy was born on June 6, 1939, in Emmet, Arkansas, the daughter of Caleb Lenzy Powell and Jeanetta “Nettie” Sartin Powell. She was married on June 2, 2013 to Delmar Buttrum. She was preceded in death by her spouses, Kenneth Dale Pierce, Sr and Dennis Garland Connelly; her parents; her brother, Billy Gene Powell; and her daughter, Terry Pierce.

Peggy was a member of Royal Baptist Church and loved her Sunday school class, she was a very Godly woman. She enjoyed traveling, flea marketing and setting up late, playing games with family and friends and she was an avid cook. She and Kenneth, her first husband, owned and operated Ken’s House of Guns in Texarkana, and retired and moved to DeQueen and opened Ken’s RV Sales. Ken couldn’t see well so Peggy did all the towing of the campers. She retired after forty-five years working at her businesses and she also enjoyed working the gun shows for over twenty years. Above all her joys, her true love was spending time with her family and friends, who knew her as “Yum Yum”, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Delmar Buttrum; her three sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Donna Pierce of Nashville, Arkansas, Marty and Angie Pierce of Texarkana, Texas, Bobby Pierce of Hooks, Texas; her daughter, Kathy Pierce of Wake Village, Texas; her grandchildren and their spouses, Larry and Brandy McCloskey, David Stinson, Joey and Michelle Stinson, Sabrina Pierce, Kendall Pierce, Mason Pierce, Madison and Warren Falgout, Cameron and Jeremy Tittle, Nathan and Anna Allred, Ashley and Wade Carver, Christopher and Shelby Pierce, Victoria Pierce, April Pierce and Bella Basile; her great-grandchildren, Peyton, Avery and Landen McCloskey, Jacob, Eli, and Maddy Stinson, Chevy Felty, Silas and Remington Jones, Mack Little, Ender Robinson, Tristen Tittle, Lane Tittle, Amarie and Skylar Davis, Maggie, Braxton and Beckham Pierce; her two step-daughters and spouse, Kim and Carlo Basile and Kristie Rodocker, all of Chicago, Illinois; and her sister and brother-in-law, Bonita and Cecil Smith of Stamps, Arkansas; Life-long friend, Shirley “Sis” Bowman of Camden, Arkansas; nieces, nephews, extended family members and many wonderful friends.
