Preston "P.T." Henry

Preston "P.T." Henry, age 75, of Newhope, died Friday, August 17, 2012. He was born on September 8, 1936, at Newhope, the son of Dennis Henry and Ival Pinkerton Henry. On January 2, 1959, he was married to Betty Welch. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Judy Graves. The owner and operator of P.T. Henry Logging, he also farmed and operated a produce stand in Newhope. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Betty Henry of Newhope; three children and their spouses, Jenny and Terry Garrison of Dierks, Ray and Derenda Henry of DeQueen and Mary Henry of Nashville; four grandchildren, Kayla Hardin Wilson, Grant Hardin, Paige Henry and Logan Henry; two sisters, Patsy Shaw of Newhope and Bonnie Henry of Hot Springs; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 20, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Kenny Fant and Bro. Charles Herbert officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Randy Dowdy, Phillip Glasgow, Red Hunter, Tony Davis, Dennis Smiley, Anthony Smelser, Grant Hardin and Mac Irvin. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
