Rena Mae Williams

June 30, 1944 — December 19, 2020

Rena Mae Williams, age 76, of Hot Springs, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020.

Rena was born June 30, 1944, in Vallejo, California, the daughter of Drew Ashley Sr. and Lavern Lambert Ashley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Carl Williams; her parents; her brother, Drew Ashley Jr.; and her nephews, Micah Deon Davidson and Daniel Lee Ashley.

Rena graduated from Vallejo High School in 1962 and beauty school in 1963. After working as a hair stylist in California, Rena moved herself and her two daughters from Vallejo to Amity in 1972, where she met her future husband. Rena opened her hair salon, Rena's Styling, that she operated for approximately 20 years. After leaving the hair salon, she worked with her husband in Williams Hardware in Amity. In 2001, Rena retired and moved to Lake Hamilton where she enjoyed relaxing, swimming and sitting in the sun.

Rena was very artistic. She drew, painted, sculpted, made pottery and stained glass. Rena drafted and designed her dream home that she and her husband built themselves, with the help of many family members, on what she called "the mountain" in Amity. Rena's house was the location for many, many family gatherings. Rena once stated that her best memories in life were riding 4-wheelers and fishing in her pond with her grandchildren on the mountain.

Rena is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Debbie and Keith Conine of Little Rock and Dena and Ricky Still of Arkadelphia; four grandchildren and their spouses, Brittany Conine, Brian and Layne Conine, Brandon Still and Bronson Still; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Still and Jenson Conine; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty Ann and Robbie Dale Wilson of Amity; her brother and sister-in-law, Dennie Lee and Elizabeth Ashley of Conway; her sister -in-law Debbie Ashley Gann of Amity; her goddaughter, Dusty Ashley Rice; several nieces and nephews and cousins; and her long-time friend of over 60 years, Donna Graham Scrivener.

Rena was a member of the Amity United Methodist church and will be laid to rest Tuesday, December 22, 2020, in the Sweet Home Cemetery near Amity along with her favorite cat, Peanut.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Still, Brandon Still, Bronson Still, Keith Conine, Brian Conine and Ronny Ashley.
