Rev. Jesse Partridge

Rev. Jesse Partridge, age 94, of Amity, died Friday, January 24, 2014. He was born on January 8, 1920 at Amity, the son of George Tilmon Partridge and Ada Davis Partridge. On August 12, 1939, he was married to Ruth Phinney. He was preceded in death by his son, Jesse Morgan Partridge; his great-granddaughter, Isabella Jester; two brothers, Herman Partridge and Leroy Partridge; and two sisters, Winnie French and Dura Mae Tallant. He was a retired automotive mechanic and Assembly of God minister. At age 53, he became the pastor at Plainview Assembly of God Church. His ministry would eventually lead him to pastor at Culvert Springs Assembly of God Church in Amity, Red Springs Assembly of God Church in Gurdon and Norman Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Partridge of Amity; three children, Mary Jester of Caddo Valley, Danny Partridge of Little Rock and Annette Wehunt of Caddo Gap; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Clifton "C Boy" Partridge of Amity; and his sister, Dorothy House of Sparkman. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 28, 2014 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Rev. Glenn Wehunt and Rev. Jerry Fagan officiating. Visitation will be Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery at Amity. Pallbearers will be Steve Partridge, Tim Partridge, Hunter Wehunt, Larry Partridge, Corey White and David Choate. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
