Richard David McCaslin, Sr.

Richard David McCaslin, age 78, of Hot Springs, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

Richard was born on August 8, 1943 in Royal, the son of John Leland McCaslin and Iva Lee Kelton McCaslin. On February 5, 1971, he married Brenda McClard. He preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Serita McCaslin; two brothers, Hermus William McCaslin and John Gerald McCaslin; and his sister, Wanda Lee McCaslin.

He was a Christian in his faith and loved the Lord. He enjoyed many sports, he was a member of a bowling league and loved watching, with his family, the Arkansas Razorbacks, boxing, drag racing, and NASCAR. He also grew a garden and loved spending time with family and friends. He was truly a Jack of all trades. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Brenda McCaslin of Hot Springs; his two sons and daughter-in-law, Richard, Jr. & Melissa McCaslin and Leland McCaslin; his two daughters and son-in-law, Sonya McClard and fiancé, Bill Ballew and Michelle Matlock, all of Hot Springs; his grandchildren, Josh McClard, Brian McClard, Melissa Johnson, Zachary Matlock, Brittany Matlock, Emily Ritenour, Christian McCaslin, Aaron McCaslin, Justice McCaslin, Noel McCaslin and Kailor McCaslin; one brother and sister-in-law, Carter and Jane McCaslin of Hot Springs; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Bro George Lynch officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday evening at the funeral home.

Burial in Lowe Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Richard McCaslin, Jr, Leland McCaslin, Aaron McCaslin, Glenn McClard, Raymond McClard, Zachary Matlock and Josh McClard.

Honorary pallbearers will be all grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Med 2 ICU nursing staff at National Park Medical Center.
