Rick Hudgins

April 15, 1957 — January 2, 2021

Rick Hudgins, age 63, of Glenwood, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

He was born on April 15, 1957, in Hot Springs, the son of Mark and Shirley Johnson Hudgins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, received his certification as a certified welder, was a truck driver for many years, and owned and operated a tree service. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, floating the Caddo River and scouting for arrowheads, which he collected as well.

Rick had a kind, gentle heart and was lovingly called “Daddy” by his girls, and “Poppy” by his grandchildren. His greatest joy in life was when he was spending time with his family, especially his girls and grandkids. He had a true love for each and every member of his family. Rick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his three daughters, who he always proudly referred to as his “Three Southern Belles”, Melissa Hudgins of Hot Springs, Amanda Davis and Kristina McAnally, both of Benton; his five grandchildren, who he adored, Seaton and Sarah Yeager, Makenzie, Grayson and Ryder McAnally; his beloved friend and the mother of his girls, Danita Johnson of Glenwood; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Richard and Deborah Hudgins, Rodney Hudgins and Roger Hudgins, all of Glenwood; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Elizabeth and Chris Johnson and Ellen and Joe Moreland, all of Glenwood; two uncles, Bud Johnson of Peoria, Illinois and Mike Johnson of Caddo Gap; two aunts, Juanita Tackett of Glenwood and Marilyn Cook and her husband, Gus, of Birmingham, Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 4, 2021, in the Bethel Cemetery with Bro. Keith Howell officiating.

Pallbearers will be his brothers and his grandsons.
