Robert "Bob" Brines

Robert "Bob" Brines, age 79, of Hot Springs, died Saturday, August 19, 2017. He was born on March 6, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Dale Brines and Jeannette Maraw Brines. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Johnny Brines. Bob was a Methodist in faith. A U.S. Army veteran, he served as a military police officer with his K-9 officer, Max, whom he loved dearly. He later served as an officer with the Skokie, Illinois Police Department. After moving to Hot Springs, Bob trained horses and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his former wife, Jimye Brines of Hot Springs; three sons and two daughters-in-law, John Paul Touwslager of Amsterdam, Mark and Christine Brines of Naperville, Illinois and Ty and Karen Horton of Hot Springs; two daughters and one son-in-law, Reagan Mitchell of Hot Springs and Dawn and Michael Sullivan of La Grange, Illinois; one brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Jan Brines of Illinois; one sister, Jean Krebs of Florida; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, August 30, 2017 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Bro. Billy Blackmon officiating.
