Robert Edward Weyrick, Jr., age 77, of Norman, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2015, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was born on September 3, 1937, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Robert Edward Weyrick, Sr. and Genevieve Kroman Weyrick. Robert "Bob" Weyrick was a 10 year United States Air Force Veteran. After his honorable discharge from military service, Bob worked as an Electronics Engineer in the Aerospace Industry for 30 years. Bob also enjoyed drag racing his 1964 Pontiac GTO, named the "Old Goat" in California for many years. Bob also was a private pilot and Little League Baseball coach for his two sons, Michael and David. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dennis Lee. Bob is survived by his wife, of 56 years, Joyce Weyrick of Norman, Arkansas; his sons, Michael Weyrick of Fort Smith, Arkansas and David Weyrick of Mission Viejo, California; his sisters, Suzanne Beam of Tallmadge, Ohio, and Kathleen Weigand of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania; his brothers, Michael Weyrick of Northfield Center, Ohio, and John Lee of Akron, Ohio; his grandchildren, Mathew Bennett of Little Rock, Arkansas, Mark Bennett of Watertown, Minnesota, Breanna Harrod, Kiara Weyrick, and Alexa Weyrick all of Mission Viejo, California, and Michelle Weyrick and David Weyrick of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and his great-granddaughters, Madilanne Bennett and Makenna Harrod. In addition to racing, flying, and coaching his sons, Bob loved to collect cars, electronics, radio controlled planes and helicopters, and many other unique items. At Bob's request he will be cremated and there will be no public service. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
