Robert G. Thomas, age 78, of Dierks, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018. He was born on January 7, 1940 in Atlanta, Texas, the son of Robert Paul Thomas and Mary Loreen Meredith Thomas. On January 16, 1965, he was married to Linda Carol Yates Thomas who preceded him in death on April 19, 2001. He was also preceded in death by his son, Nathan Glen Thomas; his parents; his brother, Alvin Thomas; and his sister, Joyce Lyle. He was a retired Postmaster with the United States Postal Service and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member and deacon of the Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church in Mount Ida. He loved singings at his church and fishing with his grandchildren. He is survived by four daughters and their spouses, Amanda McKee of Wickes, Shauna and Malarie Thomas of Sherwood, Traci and Tony Eudy of Dierks and Marla and Bill Fahrney of Langley; thirteen grandchildren, Macon Sullivan, Braiden Thomas, Quincy Thomas, Kelsie Thomas, Nic Thomas, Brooke Nealy, Brady Eudy, Jacob Eudy, Jason Eudy, William Fahrney, Mariah Fahrney, Meredith Fahrney and Armon Fahrney; his great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Manley of Gun Barrel City, Texas and Laura Van Dyke of Boerne, Texas; and his nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 9:30 AM, Thursday, October 11, 2018, in the Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church with Bro. Barry Norman and Bro. Tim Montgomery officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 12, 2018, in the Bethsaida Y Cemetery, Atlanta, Texas under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
