Roger Allan Welch, age 62, of Amity, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

He was born on September 1, 1959, in Murfreesboro, the son of Preston Arlin Welch and Perry Ann Franklin Welch. On April 16, 1983, he married Debra Nageotte Welch. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Rita Welch; and his brother-in-law, David Smith.

Roger was a member of the Amity Assembly of God Church and a log cutter. He loved the outdoors, enjoyed hunting and teaching his grandchildren to fish. He adored his family and spending time with them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by the love of his life, Debra Welch of Amity; three children and their spouses, Albert and Rena Welch, Susan and Jonathan Davis and Donna and Sebastian Szombathy, all of Amity; nine grandchildren, Gregory, Jonathan, Scarlett, Lauren, Ely, Saedee, Landon, Aiden and Valary; three great-grandchildren, Larry, Jeffrey and Gregory; three brothers and their spouses, Randy Welch of Murfreesboro, Tracy and Renee Welch and Bruce and Leona Welch, all of Amity; two sisters and brother-in-law, Teresa Smith and Regina and Alvin Stenerodden, all of Amity; and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 13, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. David Walker officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Interment will be in Jones Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Holcombe, Gary Buck, Boots Donaldson, Josh Franklin, Cody Smith and Brian Harris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Freddie McCann and Paul Middleton.
