Roger McDaniels

Roger McDaniels, age 70, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018. He was born on September 23, 1948, in Arrowsmith, Illinois, the son of the late Charles Andrew McDaniels and Eula Belle Wise McDaniels. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in Vietnam and was a Christian in his faith. He was a pet lover and enjoyed motorcycle riding. Roger was lovingly known as "Papa" by his grandchildren, whom he adored and always was taking care of anything they needed or wanted. His greatest joy in life was when he was spending time with his family. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Betty Cogburn McDaniels of Hot Springs; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bradley and Cindy Manasco of Amity and Brian Manasco of Kirby; five grandchildren, Angil Manasco, Karley Manasco, Nicholas Manasco, Stone Manasco and John Manasco; one nephew, Randy Hehmann of Champaign, Illinois; one niece, Brenda Hehmann Greenway of Champaign, Illinois; his beloved Chihuahua, "Scooter" and numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. David Walker officiating. Interment will be in the Black Springs Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army Honors Team. Pallbearers will be Bradley Manasco, Brian Manasco, Stone Manasco, Robert Welch, Ben Reynolds, Charles Ducote, Greg Herron and Dwight Weeks. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of Arkansas Hospice-Inpatient, 5th Floor, CHI St. Vincent Hospital, Hot Springs. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
