Ronnie "Road Hog" Chambers

Ronnie “Road Hog” Chambers, age 59, of Caddo Gap, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020.

He was born on February 22, 1961, in Chico, California, the son of Billy Gene Chambers and Lorrie Gene Smith Chambers. On July 24, 1981, he was married to the love of his life, Sherri Louise Cogburn. He was preceded in death by his parents; three uncles, Dale Chambers, Charlie Chambers and Bobby Chambers; two aunts, Virginia Thew and Katie Reese; and his mother-in-law, Logene Cogburn.

He attended church at The Well and drove a log truck for many years. He enjoyed hunting, tinkering with vehicles, and was fondly know by many as “Road Hog” and will be remembered for his joy of racing cars on many dirt tracks, particularly in his race car #99.

Ronnie was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, whose greatest joy in life was watching his grandkids play basketball and spending time with his family every chance he got. He truly loved his family and will be deeply missed by all.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherri Chambers of Caddo Gap; his children and their spouses, Courtney and Raymond Warren of Norman, Billy Chambers of Caddo Gap, Michael and Tiffany Chambers and Crystal and Kaleb Cogburn, all of Glenwood; thirteen grandchildren, Connor, Rylee, Robbin, Kyleigh, Hylan, Lyla, Bridger, Parker, Tayler, Gunner, Elizabeth, Olivia and Marlee; his great-grandchildren, Raven and one on the way; two sisters, Marcie Warren of Glenwood and Bridgett Fant of Bonnerdale; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Lonnie Cogburn of Caddo Gap and Paul and Carolyn Ricks of Sunshine; his special niece, Lonna Cogburn; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 23, 2020, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Pastor Doug Kincannon officiating.

Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 100 persons at any one time in the funeral home chapel, avoidance of physical contact and all attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering at all times when inside the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Veazey and Danny Britt.
