Roy Lamar Chance

Roy Lamar Chance, age 74, of Hot Springs, went to his Heavenly home on Sunday, July 12, 2020.

He was born on May 21, 1946, in Pine Bluff, the son of Aubrey Chance and Lola Bugle Chance. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Lamar attended City Life Church of Hot Springs. He worked for Ryder for a few years and later retired from BNSF Railway. After retiring. He had a huge passion for woodworking, John Wayne movies and reading, especially God’s word. Lamar loved his family dearly and he will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 18 years, Mattie Jane Chance of Hot Springs; six sons, Roy Chance of Little Rock, Bobby (Julia) Chance of Mammoth Springs, Russell Chance of San Antonio, Texas, Billy (Destiny) Davis of Mountain Pine, Joshua (Amanda) Davis of Hot Springs and Bobby Davis of Pearcy; fourteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Richard (Lanell) Chance of Hot Springs; two sisters, Laverbie (Sammy) Croft and Debbie Chance, both of White Hall; numerous nieces, nephews, a host of wonderful friends and his beloved dog, Teddy.

A celebration of Lamar’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

The family would like to thank Arkansas Hospice of Hot Springs, Dr. Amy Falck, his mother-in-law, Mary Hulsey and his brother-in-law, Jerry Miller.
