Russell D. Welch

Russell D. Welch, age 66, of Lodi, died Sunday, February 24, 2013. He was born on October 6, 1946, at Lodi, the son of Doyle Welch and Dorothy Duggan Welch. A United States Army veteran, he served in Vietnam. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Welch of Lodi; five children, Reda Driggers of Clarksville, Tennessee, Lena Simpson of Gurdon, Robert Welch of Caddo Gap, Scotty Hardage of Kirby and Joe Hardage of Amity; seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Bonnie Welch of Lodi; four sisters, Joyce Mount Pedron of Lodi, Dollie Cogburn of Glenwood, Kay Scheoff of Albion, Indiana and Deloris Karst of Huntington, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 28, 2013, in the Sweet Home Cemetery near Amity. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
