Samantha Wisener, age 45, of Black Springs, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sherman and Winnie Chapman; her brother-in-law, Michael Bretz and her grandmother-in-law, Minerva Nelson.

She was born on June 25, 1975, in El Centro, California. She was a 1993 graduate of Caddo Hills High School. On January 22, 1994, she was married to the true love of her life, Dallas Wisener. Samantha graduated Summa Cum Laude from National Park College in 2013, where she received her Associates of Science Degree in Nursing, was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and also received the Florence Nightingale Excellence Award. She was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church and for most of her life she was also a part of Norman First Baptist Church.

Samantha fought like she lived, with every bit of stubbornness and determination imaginable. She was a warrior queen right up until the very end. Samantha was an inspiration to all who knew her through her faith, courage and perseverance. It goes without saying, if you knew Samantha at all, you knew her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, who she loved with all her heart. We are all better people for having known her and loved her. Her family and friends take great comfort in knowing her pain and suffering are now over, but she will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 27 years, Dallas Wisener; her son and daughter-in-law, Austin and Rachael Wisener; her daughter and son-in-law, Gracie and CJ Staggs; two grandchildren, Callie Wisener and Jackson Wisener; her parents, Ray and Mildred Moore, all of Black Springs; her brother, David Moore of Memphis; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lisa and Joe Trygar of Perrin, Texas and Rachel Bretz of Hot Springs; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Sue Wisener; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Michael and Josie Duggan, all of Black Springs; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Angie and Brent Turner of Kirby; numerous special nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, extended family members and a host of wonderful and loving friends.

A celebration of Samantha’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the Norman First Baptist Church with Bro. Brian Hill and Bro. Robbie Loudermilk officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood.

Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 66% of the total seating capacity occupied at the church and funeral home chapel, avoidance of physical contact and all attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering at all times.

Interment will be in the Black Springs Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Bowers, Deric Erwin, Dennis Garmon, John Hackney, Cody Roberts and Alan Sollien.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Fred Divers and the team at Genesis Cancer Center, as well as the staff of CHI St. Vincent-Hot Springs, for the excellent and loving care provided to Samantha during her illness.
