Traci Lynn Williams

March 31, 1959 — July 21, 2020

Traci Lynn Williams, age 61, of Hot Springs, died Tuesday, July 21, 2020.

She was born on March 31, 1959, in Lubbock, Texas, to Roy Nathan McVey and Lucille McVey Strickland. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Traci was a wild spirit who spent the first half of her life as a force of nature, riding free in Texas. With her hippie heart in full bloom, she moved to Hot Springs in 1990. For the next 30 years, she touched the hearts of all of those around her in this community from the 15 years she spent at Lake Hamilton School feeding Wolf Nation to the 12 years at Oaklawn Racetrack. Her talent in the kitchen was legendary and her giving heart was unmatched. Although she only gave birth to two children, she was a Mom to anyone who needed a hug, a full belly, or even a swift kick in the rear. Cooking gave her great joy and if you left her house hungry, “it was your own fault.” Traci adored playing in the dirt, helping flowers grow, and watching hummingbirds in her garden. She was a seasoned storyteller who could spend countless hours chatting about life and family and love. Traci was a rare and special soul who will be missed…well and truly missed. Her song has ended, but the melody lingers on inside us all.

Traci is survived by two daughters, Erica Loren Williams and Victoria Lynn Williams of Hot Springs; one granddaughter, Mackenzie LeAnn McClard; her sister and brother-in-law, Kelley (Dane) Clark of Amarillo, Texas; two nephews, Josh Fudge and Matt Fudge of Amarillo, Texas; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
