Wayne Keith Watkins

Wayne Keith Watkins, 85, of Hot Springs, peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 15, 2020. Wayne was born on March 24, 1934, in Alhambra, California. He is preceded in death by his mother, Verda Burrough Erwin; his step-father, Bill Erwin; and his father, John Watkins. He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 59 years, Virgie; sons, Monty (Cheryl) and Kurt; daughter, Amy; grandson, Hamp; lifelong friend, Shannon Montgomery; members of Grace Bible Church; and a host of relatives and friends. Wayne was one of the founders and an Elder of Grace Bible Church. He retired in 1996, from his electrical business (W & W Electric). After his retirement, his passions were for his involvement with the Archaeological Society, repairing antique light fixtures, photography, pottery and his flea market booth. He enjoyed his weekly meetings with his coffee buddies, meeting new friends and telling fascinating stories. Special thanks from the Watkins family to Arkansas Hospice and the many caring friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Bible Church, 1005 Richard Street, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913, designated to "Building Fund" or "Arkansas Youth Camp" (AYC). A celebration of his life will be held at a later time to be announced. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
