Alice Louise "Lou" Keadle

April 19, 1927 — January 30, 2013

Alice Louise (Lou) Keadle, 85, of Glenwood, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. She was born on April 19, 1927 in Solgohachia, Arkansas to the late Henry and Alma Eskridge and was married to the late Dr. William Ray Keadle until his death in November of 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; her son, James Ray Keadle; and her daughter Karen LaDonne Keadle Hall. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debra Ann Keadle Cowart and husband, Butch Larry Cowart of Glenwood, Arkansas; her sons, William Edward Keadle and Gary Wayne Keadle of Little Rock, Arkansas; and her beloved grandchildren Michael Ray Cowart and Christopher Mark Cowart of Rogers, Arkansas; Jennifer Louise Hall of Klamath Falls, Oregon; and Courtney Paige Keadle of Hot Springs, Arkansas. She both survived and leaves a wealth of extended family and friends. In her long life, Lou was the classic housewife and mother, who tirelessly supported and protected her children and grandchildren through countless school activities, personal achievements, successes and losses. She could always be depended upon to lend her time and effort to ferry and chaperone her kids and their friends on a seemingly endless number of field trips and adventures, both at home and across the state. In her later years, she kept busy living a full life while continuing to provide encouragement, love and support to her family and friends. Lou was a kind soul who had a particularly soft spot for animals, especially her precious hummingbirds, for whom she would eagerly await their arrival in the spring and lament their departure in the fall. We mourn only for those who never got the chance to meet and know this beautiful lady. Special thanks are given for the special care provided by the doctors and staff of the Emergency Room, Critical Care Unit, and Hospice Service of the Mercy Medical Center, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Please come celebrate the life of Heaven's newest angel in a visitation/memorial service on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 209 North 3rd Street, Glenwood, Arkansas (870) 356-2114.
