Billie Carlson, age 80, of Jackson, Missouri, formerly of Amity, died Tuesday, January 25, 2011. She was born on February 17, 1930 in Allen, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Hawkins and Fannie Patrick Hawkins. On August 25, 1951, she was married to Leo Carlson who preceded her in death on July 13, 1996. She was a member of the Amity First Baptist Church and enjoyed embroidery and quilting. Survivors include four children and their spouses, Betty and Randall Smith of Amity, Billie and Richard Welch of Malvern, Herschel and Kay Carlson of St. Genevieve, Missouri and Johnny and Wanda Carlson of Jackson, Missouri; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Hawkins of Glenwood and Johnny Hawkins of Modesto, California; four sisters, Edith Knighten, Helen Vaughn, and Rosa Maness all of Glenwood and Mary Lou Jackson of Memphis, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 29, 2011 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery near Amity under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home of Glenwood. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be James Hemund, Jr., John Hemund, Brent Carlson, Dennis Carlson, Shane Carlson and Kevin Paul. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
