Joy Fern Mack

Joy Fern Mack, age 83, of Glenwood, formerly of Alexandria, Indiana, died Thursday, May 1, 2014. She was born on June 16, 1930 at Harper Springs, Arkansas, the daughter of Alger Cowart and Vennie Crow Cowart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Mack; her daughter, Sheila Davis; her grandson, Dustin Cox; and three brothers, Harold Lynn Cowart, Floyd Cowart and Norman Dean Cowart. She was a member of the Alexandria Christian Congregation Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Fishing was one of her favorite past times. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debbie Mack of Glenwood; three grandchildren, Greg Mack, Angie Akridge and Tonya Ledbetter; four great-grandchildren, Lacy Mack, Haley Mack, Kelsey Nance and Shyenne Nance; one great-great-grandchild, Alexis Reese Orrell; her brother and sister-in-law, Wallace Ray and Beverly Cowart of Anderson, Indiana; and her sister-in-law, Ruth Cowart of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Saturday, May 3, 2014, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood. Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in the Owens Funeral Home Chapel, Alexandria, Indiana, with Rev. Jerry Young officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until service time. Interment will be in the Park View Cemetery, Alexandria, Indiana.
